This is a study of Caillebotte’s work. I was inspired to study this piece because Cailllebotte uses a limited palette so well here to create depth and weather conditions. It was challenging but worth the time I put into it. Which was about 20 hours over the course of a few days. It’s not totally exact but I feel the depth and the weather conditions in my piece that I was inspired by in Caillebotte’s work.

This is a study of Gustave Caillebotte’s work. I was drawn to do a study of this piece because of the sharp perspective in the piece and the loose brushwork. My aim was to capture the angle of the perspective, use a minimal palette and limited brushwork to create a feeling of Paris during this time of the day itself and in history.
